Purpose of United Methodist Women
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
United Methodist Women is a part of The United Methodist Church. Membership is open to any women who commits to its emphasis of spiritual growth, supportive fellowship, and global ministries to women, children, and youth; church membership is not a requirement. East Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church consists of ten districts ranging in a diagonal line across northeast Ohio from the Sandusky to Marietta areas. The region includes over 15,000 United Methodist Women in more than 500 churches.
